A nighttime race between two cars at Worli Sea Face resulted in grief for a family riding in a third car that the racers zoomed past and struck.

As per an eyewitness account, at about 1.15 am last night, a Swift was driving at normal pace along the road, when a Honda City and a Skoda, came up at full pelt on either side if it. The Skoda driver abruptly veered toward the Swift and thumped it, sending it reeling toward the Honda. It ricocheted off the Honda, swerved a 360 degrees, and came screeching back to the Skoda, until it capsized to land on its roof.

The driver of the Swift, Sumit Shinde, was injured and was rescued an hour later when the fire brigade reached the spot. He was taken to Sion Hospital. The other four passengers escaped unharmed. While the Honda driver sped away immediately after the strike, the Skoda driver couldn't make a run for it as passers-by stopped him.
