Filing his reply to Indrani Mukerjea's application demanding his call data records (CDR) of 2012 and 2015, Peter Mukerjea said that she was trying to malign his reputation. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also put forward its reply in the matter and mentioned that Indrani had malafide intentions behind filing the application.

Peter's reply further states that her conduct is highly condemnable, contemptuous and is clearly an attempt to cause interference in the administration of justice. The allegations made by her are completely false and defamatory. "It appears that it's a desperate attempt on her part to wriggle out of the situation and hence she is playing the victim card," the reply states. It also mentions that Peter does not wish to engage in such mud-slinging as he has complete faith in the judiciary and intends to present his defense truthfully before the court.
"I am aware that these false allegations are Indrani's well-thought legal strategy. It's a sinister plot to drag me into the controversy. The allegations are a figment of her imagination and have been deliberately made at a later stage," the reply mentions. On the other hand, CBI in its reply has stated, "Indrani has filed the application with a malafide and dishonest intention to divert the attention of approver Shyamvar Rai, who is being cross-examined by Indrani's advocate since August 1. During his deposition, Rai stated the facts and also confirmed the same during his cross-examination before the court." The Bureau further stated, "It is not out of context to mention here that accused Indrani is delaying the trial by filing such applications."
