Rohnit Gore, one of the 20 students who suffered serious burn injuries when the mini bus carrying the students of CKT High School caught fire on Thursday, succumbed to his injuries at the National Burns Hospital in Navi Mumbai on Saturday evening.

Twelve-year-old Panvel resident Gore had suffered 70 per cent burns. Of the 40 children travelling in the mini bus, 20 had to be admitted to the hospital to treat various levels of burn injuries. According to the hospital sources some are still critical. The incident happened at 6.15 am. Locals immediately alerted the Panvel police and helped the cops in getting the injured children to nearby hospitals.

Many students were injured while trying to jump out of the burning bus. A short circuit in the rear side of the bus may have caused the fire, is what the police said. The bus driver and the bus owner have been arrested.
