Three commuters sustained injuries after a pantograph, the metal electronic device atop local trains, which collects power from the overhead wires, broke with its flying parts injuring passengers.

The incident took place ini the Karjat-CST local train at Ambernath railway station around 2:40 pm on Saturday. 40-year-old Kamlesh Jadwani, who was seated at the door of the luggage compartment injured his foot. Two other commuters, Sachin Janardhan, 32, and Vijay Badekar, 17, were inflicted with minor injuries, a government railway official said.
