An oil spill near Goregaon on the Western Express Highway brought traffic to a standstill early Saturday morning.
The incident happened when a crude oil tanker was hit by a truck, leading to a spill in the 1 to 1.5 km area.
The fire brigade was called at around 6.30 am, following which they sent two fire engines and two tankers to the spot.
The oil spill was cleared with the help of water from the tankers.
It took the fire brigade four hours to clear the road after which traffic has resumed now. One person suffered minor injuries and received treatment at Jogeshwari Trauma Care Centre.
