Michael Jackson fans in India don't want concert memorabilia; instead are eyeing used articles that the King of Pop had on him
Seems there are no takers for Michael Jackson's official merchandise. His fans want nothing less than a part of him.
Just a month before his death, the pop king had helped design a range of knick-knacks to mark his comeback concert that was to be held on July 13. Though the This Is It concert memorabilia is being sold online (they will be available at stores too), his fans want a little more than just that. Fans want articles used by MJ.
Even celebs want the old memories!
Composer-singer Anu Malik longs for MJ's musical belongings. "It's wonderful that his concert memorabilia are up for sale, but I would rather want an instrument he had played or may be a shirt he wore for a concert. I would love to have a pair of his famous gloves; it would give me the feeling of being next to him," said Malik.
Designer Rahul Jain too wants his gloves. "I want to buy something that is as iconic as MJ was like his gloves, hat or the black and gold jacket which he wore for his concerts," said Jain.
Choreographer Sandeep Soparkar said he would prefer collecting MJ's music rather than memorabilia. "Selling celebrity merchandise is just a marketing gimmick. I would rather buy CDs of MJ's music and treasure them for life," said Soparkar.
Delhi-based model Amanpreet Wahi has eyes on Michael's bracelet if it ever goes under the hammer. "We have grown up listening to him, copying his legendary dance. I would love to grab something that has touched him like his bracelet or may be a t-shirt," said Wahi.
