With MSRDC having completed majority of work in removing the loose boulders from the expressway stretch between Khopoli and Khandala, there won't be any traffic blocks on the E-way on Saturday and Sunday
There is a good news for motorists set to use the the Mumbai-Pune Expreesway over the weekend with the Maharshtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) having completed the majority of work of removing the loose boulders from the expressway stretch between Khopoli and Khandala. With this there shouldn't be any traffic blocks on the Expressway on Saturday and Sunday.
MSRDC Vice-Chairman Anil Diggikar said, "The work of removing the loose boulders between Khandala and Khopoli has been almost completed and so there won't be any traffic blocks on the expressway on Saturday and Sunday. If necessary traffic blocks will be taken during the next week but the blocks will be taken by partly closing the expressway."
The steps came in the wake of the deaths of two motorists on the Expressway due to a landslide near the Adoshi tunnel on July 19.
The Adoshi landslide happened because of the weak nets These nets were not maintained properly after the defect liability period had expired in 2013.
