A massive fire that engulfed the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) depot in Navi Mumbai last night was doused after eight hours.
No casualties were reported. Twenty fire engines were rushed to the spot to prevent the fire from spreading.
The fire had broken out at the facility where lubricants are blended and filled.
According to reports, around 30,000 litres of lubricant oil stored in the IOC godown at Taloja was destroyed. There was also some damage to the machinery.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
In October 2009, at least ten people were killed and over a hundred were injured in a similar fire at the Indian Oil Corporation depot on the outskirts of Jaipur.
