A National Security Guard team on Monday performed an anti-hijacking mock drill exercise in an Air India flight at the old Mumbai airport


A National Security Guard team on Monday performed an anti-hijacking mock drill exercise in an Air India flight at the old Mumbai airport.

The aircraft was registered as VT-ESO.

This counter hijack exercise which began at 1 pm continued till 5 pm. The exercise was supervised of Colonel Sanjay Kumar.

The team comprised 121 personnel, which included 30 officers and 91 commandos. Two canines also participated in this drill.

In another recent drill, NSG had conducted a counter hijacking drill at Mumbai Airport from October 19 to 24, 2015.

The counter-hijacking task force arrived at Mumbai and conducted the exercise at a bay from 11.10 am to 12.45 am using Jet Airways flight VT-JWS under the supervision of Colonel Sanjay Kumar. 142 NSG personnel had participated in that drill. The team also conducted it at a hangar from 3.10 pm to 4.15 pm using Star Airlines flight VT-ALJ.
