A 47-year-old woman from the city was found dead on railway tracks near Ratnagiri on Sunday. The woman along with her family had gone to Ernakulam in Kerala for the inauguration ceremony of their new house.

After having dinner in the train the woman went missing and was found dead on the railway tracks the next day. "The way she died is highly suspicious. Doors are closed in the night. The cops suspect that some robber must have fought with her and she might have fallen down. It is not a case of suicide," said a relative.

The woman, identified as Sheela Jiji, was with her husband Vettuparampil and two daughters Jeena and Jisna. Sheela used to work with a private firm, her husband is a railway employee, Jeena is in Std X in Duruelo Convent School in Bandra and Jisna is a first year graduation student.
According to their relatives, the family left for Ernakulam on November 13 and boarded Mangala Express to come back to Mumbai on Friday. A family member said, "They had dinner and around 11pm they went to sleep. Her husband woke up at 6am and couldn't find Sheela anywhere." They got down at Ratnagiri station and informed the police and the station master that she was missing.

They then came to know that 30 km from Thivim station in Goa one body of a woman was found and taken to Goa Medical College & Hospital. The family reached thehospital and was shocked to find Sheela dead. They identified her through her clothes. Post-mortem was performed at the same hospital. Thivim GRP is investigating the matter.
