The celebrations in the city was a grand affair with 'Govindas' showing up in full strength to perform the ritual of forming a human pyramid to reach the Dahi Handi(earthen pot).
Every year, hundreds of youth perform the 'Dahi Handi' ritual during Janmashtami.
Earlier, the Bombay High Court had ruled that the height of the human pyramid cannot be more than 20 feet and children under 18 years cannot take part in the festival. However, the Supreme Court had stayed the high court's order.
