Businessmen and taxi drivers are feeling the heat of the currency crisis, with a nearly 60% to 70% drop in income. With most Mumbaikars conserving the precious '100 notes and opting to pay online to either order food or for radio cabs, small eateries and autos and taxis are being left by the wayside.
Mithalal Pande, a taxi driver, Andheri, said, "Our income has taken a huge beating in the past three days because we have no change to give back to our customers. They prefer to take radio cabs as they can pay online."
âEarlier, I would take home around '600 daily. In the past three days, I have taken home only '200. People don't have change. How will we survive?' - Ramesh Pandey (51), auto driver
