Mumbai local: Woman delivers baby on train at Bhandup station

A pregnant woman delivered a child in a local train in Mumbai on Saturday. The baby was delivered when the train approached Bhandup station; the local was a CST-bound train that started from Badlapur on the Central Railway.

According to initial reports, the woman was on her way to a hospital for her delivery in Mumbai with her husband and child when she went into labour and fellow passengers helped deliver the baby.

People gather around the baby and mother.

The train was halted at Bhandup and the woman was put in a stretcher and rushed to a nearby hospital.
