The Goregaon Police on Tuesday has registered a case against an unidentified person for allegedly hacking an actor's WhatsApp account and making obscene video calls to his female friends and vulgar text messages to his male friends.
The actor, Sanchay Goswami has worked in television advertisements, web series and in two Hindi movies --Days of Tafree and Jalebi.
According to sources, Goswami approached the police alleging that his WhatsApp account was hacked and someone converted his personal account into the business account. He also alleged that the hacker was sending vulgar messages and making obscene video calls to his female friends and colleagues.
Speaking to mid-day, he revealed that on Monday when returning from the airport at around 12.15 am with his mother after dropping his brother who was flying to US, he received an OTP on his phone which he ignored. Then he got a call from a number with a calling code from the US, which he assumed the caller to be his brother as he thought he was calling him from the airport as he does not have any local contact numbers.

After reaching home, when plugged the phone on charging, he received a call from her female friend on his alternate contact numbers, Goswami said.
"I went to Goregaon Police station and filed a complaint with the police and also tweeted to alert the Mumbai police about the problem. I also updated my friends on my Instagram and Facebook accounts with the post of not accepting any calls from my WhatsApp account with an apology," he further added.
