The Shivaji Nagar police officials are on the lookout for the monster uncle, who has allegedly raped his 14-year-old niece on several occasions over the past seven months. The crime came to light when the parents of the minor girl took her to KEM Hospital for a medical check-up and learnt that she was seven months pregnant.

According to police officials, the victim is a resident of Shivaji Nagar in Govandi West, and her uncle stayed in the neighbourhood. An officer from Shivaji Nagar police station told sunday mid-day, "The name of the accused cannot be disclosed because he is a relative of the victim. By revealing his name, it's possible that the minor girl's identity might get disclosed."

According to the complainant, the accused would often visit her at home and force himself upon her. However, the girl hid the fact from her parents as the accused had threatened her. "The parents realised there was something wrong with her as her stomach looked swollen. They took her to KEM Hospital on Friday, where it was revealed that she was seven months pregnant," said the police officer.

The cops were notified by the KEM hospital after which a case was registered under Section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Indian Penal Code. A police team was then sent to her uncle's residence, but he was not at home.
