Investigation reveals that the duo had been exploiting the minors for the last five months
Officials from N M Joshi Marg police station arrested two men, last Friday, for sexually abusing three seven-year-old boys. Cops said that the incident came to light when the mother of one of the victims found the trio repeating the actions of their molesters.
The accused were identified as Santosh Gauriya Walkwatkar (32) and Kalpesh Jaywant Kure (23) and are said to be residents of the same locality as that of the victims. Investigation revealed that the duo had been sexually exploiting the minors for the last five months.
Inspector Rajendra Nikum from N M Joshi Marg police station said, "The duo made the kids touch their privates, but didn't sodomise them. This went on for months.
It was only last week that the incident came to light after the mother of one of the victims found them repeating their molesters' actions. Upon inquiring they said they were curious to find out what exactly the duo felt whenever they asked them to do it."
He added that when the mother inquired with them, the three boys narrated the entire incident following which she took them to the police station and registered a complaint against the two. A team was dispatched and the accused were picked up from their homes.
They were booked under section 377 (unnatural offence) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant sections under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. They were produced in court on Monday, which remanded them in police custody.
Case II
In a similar incident, a 13-year-old boy from Kurla was sodomised by his 16-year-old friend on two separate occasions by threatening him of dire consequences if he refused to cooperate. An officer from Nehru Nagar police station said, "The first incident took place in the first week of March, while the second incident took place on March 24.
The incident came to light after the victim complained of severe pain and informed his mother. She then registered a police complaint following which the accused was detained."
The accused was booked under was booked under sections 377 (unnatural offence) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC, along with sections 4 and 5 (L) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
