A 16-year-old girl attempted suicide by jumping off a skywalk near Kandivli East station on Saturday. Prima facie the cops have said the reason was that her boyfriend had rejected her marriage proposal as she is a minor. On Saturday, around 12 pm, according to eyewitnesses on the skywalk, the girl was arguing loudly with someone on the phone. As soon as she hung up, she jumped from the skywalk. She was taken to the nearest government hospital and is in critical condition.

The police found her bag with a diary in it, and on each page she had written, "I love you papa". The cops found out that her father had died a few years ago and she had been very close to him. The cops have prima facie found that she was in love with a boy and had been insisting that he marry her. The cops have recorded the statement of the boy, who told the cops that he refused to marry her because she was a minor.
According to the Samta Nagar police, they are still investigating the reason for the attempted suicide, which will be clear only when the girl regains consciousness.
