As per Skymetweather, the rains in Mumbai are especially heavy due to the onset of the Southwest Monsoons and it is likely to be vigourous over Mumbai, coastal Karnataka and parts of Maharashtra. It will also affects parts of Odisha, North Andra Pradesh, South Chhattisgarh and the Konkan region.

People wade through water-logged streets
If you have been complaining about the heavy rains, here's the silver lining; Heavy rainfall in the catchment areas over the last two days are likely to bring relief to the city, as the water stock in all seven water-supplying lakes has reached 60 per cent of total usable amount. While Modak Sagar Lake started overflowing on Saturday morning, the rain has added 47 days of water in the other lakes.
Modak Sagar is one of the major lakes, which supplies drinking water to the city and the water stock has reached 8.99 lakh million litre as of Saturday. This means Mumbai now has enough water for the next eight months.
On the down side, the combination of heavy rains with high tide could spell disaster for the city, leading to flooding in a number of places across the city.

What you can expect today:
As per the IMDMumbai, you can expect intermittent rain in the city and suburbs, while heavy rains are likely to hit certain parts.
As for the high tide, Mumbai is likely to experience high tide at 5.31am (3.45 meters) and 5.30pm (3.85 meters)
