KEEP THE FAITH: Constable Pradeep Kadam of Kurar police station returns the wallet he found lying by a washbasin at a hotel in Malad on Wednesday to Suresh Shetty.

Kadam discovered that the wallet had Rs 5,840, a substantial part of Shetty's salary, his driving license, pan card, and debit cards in it. "It was difficult to trace the owner.

The PAN card had no address or contact details. The license had a Nashik address. I found a visiting card and called the person and asked him if he knew Shetty."

Kadam had a tough time getting the person to part with Shetty's number. "The person was not clear who the person I was asking for was. After giving several clues, he remembered and shared Shetty's number.

On Thursday morning, I called Shetty who correctly confirmed the contents of the wallet to me. After I was convinced that he was the owner of the purse."

Shetty said he is surprised to get his purse back after losing it in a crowded place. "I cannot believe I got my purse back.
