The Bandra police have been looking for a mystery vehicle, which fled on Monday after crashing into a Bullet and knocking off its two riders. The accident led to the death of Hitesh Manekar, 20, who was riding pillion, while his friend Kiran Vidre, 20, who was riding the bike, suffered injuries.
The incident occurred on Monday evening, when the two were on their way home to Vile Parle. They'd reached near the Bandra bridge and were to take the Kherwadi flyover, when an unknown vehicle rammed into their bike, after which they fell on the highway, the police said. Kiran told cops the vehicle fled immediately and hence, he could not even see whether it was a car or bike.
A police officer said, "A case of negligence has been registered. We are in the process of scanning the CCTV footage at the spot to identify the car."
