In a tragic incident, the mother of a 19-year-old girl who died after committing suicide jumped to her death from a high rise in Thane. The woman is said to have taken the drastic step in Thane's posh Vasant Vihar area as per reports my DNAindia. As per the police they have not found a suicide note in connection with either the mother's or the daughter's suicide. They believe the woman took the step in a state of shock, but are still probing the motive behind the incident.

The deceased woman is a native of Andra Pradesh and she used to reside with her daughter who was a chartered accountant. A few days ago, the woman's daughter consumed rat poison in an attempt to commit suicide and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was being given treatment. Unfortunately, the girl succumbed at around 530am on Sunday. On finding out about her daughter's death, the woman walked out of her home and jumped from the 17th floor corridor of the high-rise she lived in.
As per a resident of the building, "the deceased's husband ran behind her but before he could reach, she had already jumped off. Her daughter had recently given her exams and we all are wondering why she took such a drastic step." As per the police, they have filed an accidental Death Report (ADR) at the Chitalsar-Manpada Police Station in the case of the mother's death and in have filed the an ADR at the Vartak Nagar Police Station in connection with the girl's death.
Ganpat Pingale, Senior police inspector of Chitalsar Manapada police station said, "We have recorded statements of few relatives and our preliminary inquiry is on to establish the reason of girl's death. It is suspected that the mother was depressed since her only daughter died and in a state of shock she took the drastic step. The mother's body was handed over to her family after conducting panchanama and postmortem,"
