Fiza Khan
A day after a 17-year-old girl Fiza Khan from Mannubhai Chawl in Chandivli, went missing after she ventured out to answer nature's call, NDRF jawans and fishermen recovered her body from a quarry on Wednesday evening. The Powai police are in the process of registering an accidental death report in the matter. Though how she fell into the quarry remains a mystery, her family has ruled out the possibility of a suicide.

Speaking to mid-day, Fiza's father Firoz Khan said, "She had dropped out of school after Std VIII and was the eldest of all the siblings. She had got engaged three years back and was to get married next year. She didn't have any issue with the marriage, in fact she was excited about it." The deceased's relative Parveen Sheikh said, "Fiza's cousin sister had accompanied her to the quarry on the day of the incident. However, when Fiza wanted to show her how she could jump into the quarry, she took her back home. But instead of reaching home, she disappeared mid-way."
All angles being probed
When contacted, an officer from Powai police station said, "Looking at the spot, a girl would never go there to answer nature's call. We've also come to know from her family members that she was not eating properly for the past couple of days. The body has been sent to Rajawadi Hospital for post-mortem. The case is being investigated from all possible angles."
