Five days after Lalbaug resident Rajesh Maru died after he was sucked into the MRI machine at Nair Hospital, the Agripada police have arrested the fourth person - Radiologist Dr Siddhant Shah - in connection with the case. According to the police, Dr Shah was present at the spot when Maru entered the MRI room with the oxygen cylinder.

Speaking to mid-day, Sawlaram Agawane, senior inspector, said, "During investigation we found that even Dr Shah was present at the time of the incident. He could have stopped Maru from carrying the cylinder into the MRI room. He has been booked under the same offence as that of the other three. He will be produced in court today."

On the day of the incident (January 27), Maru had gone to the hospital to meet his relative Lakshmibai Solanki. Around 8.30 pm he accompanied Solanki to the MRI room with an oxygen cylinder. The moment he entered the room, he got pulled in and his finger got stuck between the cylinder and the machine, resulting in his death.

Agripada police registered a case under section 304 (A) of IPC and arrested resident doctor Saurabh Lanjekar, ward boy Vitthal Chavhan and helper Sunita Surve for negligence.
