A scene from the video, which explains the entire process of RTE admissions
A video tutorial on YouTube will now educate parents on how to get their child admission to school under the Right To Education (RTE) Act. It is an attempt by the education department to put an end to RTE admission chaos. As the admission season begins, there is a lot of confusion among parents regarding RTE admissions. It is also the time when touts make false promises to parents and charge money to fill forms, or to acquire required documents illegally.

The informative short film explains the entire process with steps an applicant needs to follow online. It also lists out precautions that parents need to take. Regulations are explained by officers at the BMC's education department. The video, which was uploaded on YouTube this week, has already crossed 6,000 views in only two days' span.

Mahesh Palkar, Education Officer at the BMC, said, "The video is our way to clear all the confusion that parents might have regarding RTE admissions. Even as we have help centres for parents' convenience, it is observed that they are approached by touts who charge them for this application process which is completely free. Parents can fall prey to false ideas given by such people regarding required documents (income certificate and caste certificate) and other points. Sometimes genuine candidates lose out on seats because of misinformation. We hope that this video tutorial clarifies their doubts."
