Keep Aiyana out, please
The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) office in Worli, Mumbai, had an unusual visitor on Wednesday morning. Rhea Pillai walked in with a petition to the commission, requesting a ban on newspapers carrying pictures of her daughter.

Demanding a need for privacy for her 9-year-old daughter Aiyana Paes, she also requested for an in-camera proceeding (to avoid media attention). As readers know, Rhea Pillai and Leander Paes have been embroiled in a high profile court battle for a while, with juicy details hitting the headlines.
Meet the snake rescuer
He's a man of many talents. However, while we still expect him to deliver his lines and enthrall us with his writing for stage, that he could rescue snakes was not something we had counted on. But Manav Kaul did just that. On Tuesday, while shooting for a film in Lonavla, Kaul came across a group of villagers at a temple surrounding a snake.
A video grab of the rescue
"They looked like they were going to beat it. I love snakes. I couldn't let that happen," he says over the phone. With nothing to support him besides a few documentaries he had watched on a wildlife channel, Kaul picked up the rather large snake with his bare hands and placed it in a plastic bag.
Though the snake had to suffer the claustrophobic environment for a bit, it must have been relieved when Kaul released it into the forest. Clap, clap.
