Take a break, Mr CM!
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has not had a chance to get any proper rest. He was out addressing poll rallies for the Lok Sabha and then Assembly polls last summer and winter, when he was state Bharatiya Janata Party chief.

And since becoming the CM in October last, the 44- year-old has not got a day off. On an average, we hear, he has been working 16-18 hours daily. And the much-needed break only came when a health situation arose on Wednesday.
A throat infection that had shown up on Tuesday, causing the CM some difficulty when communicating with the media at a press conference (at which he declared the scrapping of Mumbai's development plan), became aggravated.
Apparently, the infection was a result of three days' gruelling civic poll campaigning in Navi Mumbai, Aurangabad and Badlapur where his party has a lot at stake. On Wednesday, the CM skipped official public functions and meetings after attending a ceremony in the morning where he spoke, but then realised that he needed to seek medical advice was necessary.
He finally got the infection treated. The doctors seized the chance to give the CM his long-delayed complete physical check-up. Nothing serious was found, but the busybee has been advised to not neglect his health while handling his role as the chief executive of the state.
Women make goals go
In the world of sport, India has made headway in a little-talked-about tournament the Asian Football Confederation Under-14 Girls' Championship. It kicked off on Monday in Nepal to a happy start for India: they won against Bhutan with a smashing 12-0.
We heard about it on the blog The Ladies Finger (theladiesfinger.com), which also tells us that India subsequently drew with Bangladesh on Tuesday, earning themselves a place in the semi-finals. What is even nicer, says the blog, is that the technical team supporting the India U-14 footballers are all women.
There's head coach Maymol Rocky (a former national football player herself), assistant coach Shradhanjali Samantaray, goalkeeping coach Ronibala Lourembem and physiotherapist Monika Tarkar (an alumnus of the Chaitanya Foundation's College of Physiotherapy in Pune, who is also attached to soccer schools in Mumbai).
Our under-14s will now meet Nepal in the first semi-final on April 24. Three cheers and all the very best to them!
