He had no cape. No super powers. And certainly no six-pack to flaunt. But our taxiwallah Manohar More, can be counted as one of Mumbai countless superheroes who ferried stranded citizens across precarious terrain during yesterday's relentless downpour.

Negotiating the inner bylanes and gullies around Wadala and Antop Hill with unbelievable ease, his positive approach saw one reach the office in one piece. Refusing to give up as fellow cabbies or bikers would dissuade him from going into unknown areas, he drove as if on autopilot. And not once did he lose his cool.
In fact, he offered useful directions to others as they tried to find their way amidst the melee. Dry, and in time to meet work deadlines, he earned a well-deserved tip. "Thank you, madam. Sambhalke ghar wapas jaana," was his send off line. Mumbai could do with more of his ilk.
Yesterday, when umbrellas ruled, this self-designated selfie point at Shivaji Park was calling out for the lens and the lensman. So, as these youngsters reached up to the sky, there was little option but to click, says photographer. Pic/Satyajit Desai
