Vegetable vendor threatens a volunteer at an arts festival with fake gun because he asked him to move his tempo

Gangaram Aher

The Vartak Nagar police have detained and registered a non-cognisable offence against a vegetable vendor for flashing a fake pistol at a man during an arts festival. The incident took place last morning, when Pradeep Shirsat noticed Gangaram Aher, 48, selling vegetables from his tempo near the festival premises. "Shirsat yelled at Aher, asking him to move. The latter, in a fit of rage, removed a gun-shaped lighter and threatened him," said a police officer from Vartak Nagar.

"Shirsat ran from the spot and called us. The rumour of a gun-wielding man sparked panic at the festival," added the officer. It was only after the vendor was taken to the police station, that it was revealed that the 'gun' was a lighter.
