The group is at Mulund dump yard unloading debris, when the truck, driven by Randhir Singh, accidentally crushes their colleague Mohammed Mansuri
A group of four men had accidentally hit a colleague, but they couldn't run from the responsibility of causing his death for too long. The Kalachowkie police arrested the group earlier this week after the boss of these men identified them. The deceased has been identified as contract labourer Mohammed Mansuri, while the accused are Randhir Singh, Brijesh Sonkar, Mayram Rampal and Mungerilal Kevat.

The police got information about the abandoned body on January 9, when they received a call from a beggar who said it was lying near Sewri's Jhakeri Bunder area. Cops then reached the spot and recovered the body.

Fearing legal action, they think of dumping his body there, but scrap collectors tell them to take Mansuri to the hospital, threatening to call the cops otherwise
Truck tyre marks
They'd found marks of a truck tyre on Mansuri's body with multiple injuries on his head and legs, while a portion of his intestine was also visible. From his pocket, they recovered a cellphone. The body was sent to KEM Hospital; medical reports revealed Mansuri had died in a road accident. Cops began investigating by collecting CCTV footage from nearby areas. This footage showed four men arriving in a dumper truck, getting down with Mansuri's body and putting him on the footpath. An FIR was then filed against four unknown people under section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
After the scrap collectors leave, Randhir convinces the others to hide the body; they put the body next to some beggars sleeping and cover it with plastic
By then, they'd scanned Mansuri's cellphone and found the number of one Mithilesh Singh. He was called to the police station and shown the footage and Mansuri's photo. Mithilesh recognised the truck, which was his, and Mansuri as one of his employees. Mithilesh said his younger brother Randhir drove the truck. Later, the police informed Mansuri's family and arrested the accused from Mumbai Central.
The next day, the beggars spot the body in their sleeping area, after noticing a foul stench emanating from there, and one of them calls the cops
Cops scan Mansuri's phone and call one Mithilesh Singh, who turns out to be his employer. He identifies Mansuri, the truck and the other four men
An accident
An officer said, "We asked them why they killed Mansuri, expecting it to be some dispute, but what we heard was completely different. They said they were at the Mulund dumping yard on January 9 unloading debris, when Mansuri accidentally came under the rear tyre of the truck when Randhir was reversing."

A senior officer said, "In our investigation, we found that it is not murder, but death due to negligence, so we replaced section 302 with 304 (A). We have also sent his clothes and blood samples to the Kalina forensic lab."
