In a shocking incident four teenagers, including three minors were arrested for beating a man to death for not getting out of a taxi fast enough. a bus stop in Chembur Camp during the wee hours of Tuesday morning. The deceased, Surendra Singh, a resident of Ashok Nagar in RC Marg, Chembur, had sustained severe injuries in the assault and was immediately admitted to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar by passersby, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The victim and his roommate were returning to their residence in Chembur from CSTM in a taxi when the accused and his three friends hailed down the same taxi. Sudhir Gadkari, Inspector at Chembur police station said, "They got annoyed when Singh sat in the taxi counting the fare money. An argument broke out, which soon turned violent and the four boys attacked Singh with paver blocks lying on the road."
Gadkari further added, "We have arrested the four accused and a case has been registered under sections 302, 24 of the Indian Penal Code. One of them is a major and other three are minors. The minor accused were sent to the Children's Home in Dongri, while the latter was produced before Kurla court where he was remanded in police custody till May 14th."

The identity of the major accused has been revealed as Krishna Pomanna Boyanna, 18, who is a resident of Chembur Camp. He has confessed to his involvement in the assault.
