Mumbai Crime: Jailed Police inspector's wife raped by family friend

In a tragic incident, the wife of a suspended police inspector was raped by a family friend after he promised her that he could get her husband released from jail. The incident occurred in the woman's home at Kalyan and she reported it to the police a month after the incident as per reports by the Times of India.

The accused is the trustee of a school in Ambernath. The lady, in her complaint to the Khadakpada police, said that the accused had taken Rs 5 lakh from her saying that he would help secure bail for her husband who was in jail. As per sources, the woman's husband was in jail for over a year and the accused had promised that he could remedy the situation if she paid hi Rs 5 lakh. On September 26, 2017, the lady said that she was alone at home and the accused allegedly took advantage of the situation and raped her.

After two months, when her husband was released from jail, the woman told him about the incident and how she had been cheated out of Rs 5 lakh. The couple then filed a complaint against the acused. As per sources, the police are still on the hunt for the man.
