22-year-old Sandeep Pandey killed his friend’s younger brother, who had allegedly been staring at his girlfriend when she would leave from her tuitions
A 22-year-old has been arrested for allegedly killing his friend's brother for staring at his girlfriend. According to the police, the accused, Sandeep Pandey, worked as a security guard in Gokul Nagar area of Malad (East), where his girlfriend would attend tuition classes.
Pandey would usually drop the girl to her house. However, since last Monday, he noticed that his friend's brother, 19-year-old Nitesh Yadav, would stare at the girl as she left for home. Infuriated, Pandey decided to kill Yadav if he did not stop staring at his girlfriend.

On Wednesday evening, Pandey carried a knife with him and stood at the usual spot in front of the girl's tuition classes. As the girl came out, he noticed Yadav staring at her again. "Pandey approached Yadav and claimed that the girl was in a relationship with him. He warned Yadav to stay away from her.
However, Yadav refused to budge and told him he would continue staring at the girl and might even approach her and talk to her," said an officer from Kurar police station. Pandey removed the knife that he had been hiding in his pocket and attacked Yadav, stabbing him multiple times.
The victim's brother and Pandey's friend, Ajay, who was standing nearby, heard his cries, rushed to the spot and nabbed Pandey. He then called the police control room and took Yadav to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Kandivli, where he was declared dead on arrival. Police have arrested Pandey under section 302 of the IPC.
"He was presented before the court on Thursday and has been remanded in police custody till July 20," said senior inspector Jaichandra Kathe.
