Mumbai Crime: Father of 11 arrested for raping 13-year-old daughter

The Nirmal Nagar police in Santacruz have arrested a 32-year-old man - who is a father of 11 children - for raping his 13-year-old daughter. The accused had been raping his daughter for the last two months.

The incident came to light after the girl told her mother about the ordeal she had gone through for the last two months. Her mother registered an FIR and soon after, the father was arrested on Sunday.

According to the police, the accused raped the girl several times in the last two months. He threatened the girl by saying that if she revealed this to anyone, he would kill her and all her siblings.

The girl was scared and traumatised by the incident. Last week, her health deteriorated and when her mother asked her about what had happened to her, she revealed the repeated rapes that she had been subjected to. The mother took the girl to the police station and filed an FIR against her husband.

A medical report has confirmed the girl was raped. According to police officials, the accused works as a driver in private company. He has two wives and 11 children. His wives work in private firms. A police officer said, "The accused is married to two women, with whom he has 11 children. One of the children, a 13-year-old girl, is his victim."

The accused was produced in the Metropolitan Magistrate's court in Bandra yesterday and has been remanded to police custody.
