The Oshiwara police on Tuesday registered an First Information Report (FIR) against Disc Jockey (DJ) Anshul Makhija for raping his live-in partner.
Anshul has been accused of sexually exploiting the woman on the pretext of marrying her.
Sources from the police station said the duo met at a party in 2012, wherein they exchanged numbers. Soon, they got closer and started living together.
The model claimed since the time Anshul started getting Bollywood projects, he started avoiding her.
It was after her repeated attempts to convince Anshul to live up to his promise of marrying her failed to yield result, she approached the police and filed a case against him on Tuesday.
"We have registered an FIR against Anshul under Section 376. No arrest has been made so far as Anshul is out of Mumbai," said ACP Arun Chouhan.
