In a case of sexual assault on a minor, a 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his three-and-a-half year old neighbour in Mumbai's northern suburb of Goregaon.
The incident took place at Dindoshi where the accused, a driver by profession, called the minor on the pretext of playing with her and subsequently allegedly raped her.
After the incident, the survivour informed her mother who immediately approached the police. The accused was arrested and an FIR was registered under sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
When mid-day approached the local police station, Inspector Anavkar confirmed the incident but refused to disclose the name of the accused stating that it can reveal the identity of the victim.
