A 61-year-old vice president of a global company committed suicide by jumping off a high-rise in south Mumbai on Tuesday morning.

The man has been identified as Dhirenbhai Chandrkant Shah, a resident of Napean Sea Road. According to primary investigation by the police, Shah was reportedly under depression, and cops have recovered a suicide note from his pocket mentioning that no one should be responsible for his death.

Shah is survived by his wife, a son and daughter, both married and living abroad.

On Tuesday morning, he was found in a pool of blood in front of Prasad Chamber, Opera House, in which his company has an office.

"Whatever information we have gathered till now, he must have jumped from the terrace of the 15-storey building. He was rushed to JJ Hospital for treatment, but was declared dead on arrival," said an officer from DB Marg Police station.

Cops said Shah was battling depression and used to talk about his negative thoughts to his colleagues and family.

"The suicide note was written in Gujarati," said another officer, privy to the investigation.
