Monika More could finally put more than a year of pain and trauma behind her when she found out about her HSC result yesterday. The 18-year-old finally had proof that nothing is impossible, as long as one tries.

"I was worried that I might not even manage to get back to college. But not only did I do that, I also appeared for the HSC exams and I'm very happy with my score," said the gritty teenager, who scored 63% in the exams, which she had appeared for with the help of a writer.

In January 2014, Monika had hit headlines after suffering an accident while boarding a local train, in which she lost both her arms. A student of T D Mehta Junior College of Commerce in Ghatkopar, Monika underwent therapy at KEM hospital and, with the help of artificial limbs, finally managed to get back to college.
"She was determined to get back the life that she felt she had lost due to the accident. We are really glad that she got tremendous support from friends, family and even strangers. Even her college put in a lot of effort to ensure that she remained motivated," said her father, Ashok More.

When mid-day asked Monika about her future plans, she said, "As of now I'll continue my education in BCom at the same college and, slowly I'll try to figure out what suits me best in terms of a strong career," she said.
