'It wasn't his fault'
Auto driver Rambhadur Singh, who sustained stitches to his right hand and injured his knees, said the accident occurred due to a reckless motorcyclist. "The Mercedes was coming from Khar, when a stupid biker brushed it. In order to avoid knocking down the biker, the car driver took a hard left and lost control of the vehicle. He first rammed into the Santro, and then us."
Jitendra Patel, one of the three auto drivers who sustained injuries in the mishap
Jitendra Patel, the auto driver who sustained head injuries, said the entire incident happened in a matter of seconds. "There was hardly any traffic on the road. Three of us had parked our vehicles next to each other and were waiting for passengers. The next thing we knew the car had crashed into us."
The third auto driver, Kripa Shankar Dubey, was bleeding profusely and was administered emergency first aid at the hospital. He was discharged in the afternoon.
