An officer from Thane GRP said, "Kumar was a tattoo artist by profession and had gone to Mulund to make a tattoo, along with his friend. When they were returning, the duo got down at Kalwa station following which the two accused came and caught hold of him while his friend was let off."
The accused then took Kumar to their third accomplice, Raja Dukkar, who was waiting near Mafatlal Company in Kalwa. Police said there they allegedly strangulated Kumar to death and threw his body in a nullah nearby. Aniket had informed Kumar's parents about him being kidnapped by the two accused, following which they went to Kalwa police station and registered a missing complaint.
"The CCTV footage of Kalwa station revealed that the victim was kidnapped from the station following which the case was transferred to Thane GRP. We then started our investigation with the CCTV footage obtained from the station," added an officer.
In the last week of August, the cops received a tip-off about Ghole and the informer claimed that he (Ghole) is a resident of Kalyan. Ghole was then arrested. "In the first three days of investigation, the accused didn't reveal any details or confess to the crime.
