The 62-year-old Kurla resident had gone missing on Monday; Neral police recovered his corpse from the bushes along Neral - Matheran road; cops suspect a property dispute to be the case of his death

The Neral police have recovered the body of a Kurla-based businessman, Narayan Roshanlal Kakkad, from the bushes along Neral - Matheran road on Monday. Although the 62-year-old's body was found on Monday, the police managed to identify it only on Thursday. Initially a case of accidental death was registered, but after initial inquiry, the police are now suspecting foul play in the case. According to them, a property dispute might be the cause of Kakkad's death.

The deceased's family is in the business of supplying raw materials to local cobblers.
Kakkad had left his Kurla residence for work on Monday morning and around 4 pm, the Neral police got a call from a passersby and recovered his body.
Police sub-inspector UR Bhosale from Neral police station said: "We recovered his body from the bushes in the stretch of Neral - Matheran road. The preliminary post-mortem reports states that he was pushed to death from the height. Kakkad died with injuries on his head and limbs besides no other injury marks have been found on his body."
At first, the police was not able to identify Kakkad's body and in order to locate his family they had circulated his picture in the Thane region and Mumbai Commissionerate via whatsapp. Senior police inspector Suresh Bhavar of Nehru Nagar police station said: "Since the time he left his residence as he wasn't traceable, his son lodged a missing person's complaint at the police station on Monday evening.
We have been trying to locate Kakkad since then. On Thursday, Neral police informed us about the body after which our team along with his son went to the spot and identified Kakkad."
