But the verdict has been suspended for 30 days giving the convicts - aged 65 and 67 years - a chance to appeal in upper court and they were released on bail.

The victim's advocate, Subodh Pathak, said, "Both directors were continuously putting pressure on their sister's daughter as she had applied for maternity leave the second time in two years in 2012. The convicts were pressuring her to leave the job and threatening to reject her leave application. The day of the incident, they came to her cabin and loudly verbally abused her to the extent of outraging her modesty in front of other colleagues. The victim then went with her complaint to Charkop Police Station, where officers refused to register it. But when she approached the Deputy Commissioner of Police, they filed the complaint on August 8, 2012."

The chargesheet was soon filed and the trial commenced in the 24th Metropolitan Magistrate's Court. The court held both the accused guilty on April 13. However, when the convicts showed their desire to appeal further, their conviction was suspended for 30 days and they were released on bail for Rs 15,000 surety.
