An argument between three brothers and a tempo owner took an ugly turn on Saturday morning, when the trio allegedly stabbed the latter and his driver. While the driver was killed in the incident, the tempo owner is being treated at a local hospital.

According to police sources, the accused have been identified as Ashfaq Khan (27), Imtiyaz Khan (30) and Suhail Khan (19). The incident took place at around 10 am in Gandhi Nagar, Kandivli, when tempo driver Mushtaq Ahmed Najibulla Khan (33) was reversing his employer Sajjak Ahmed Khan's tempo. While reversing, the rear of the vehicle collided with a water drum kept outside the workshop of the accused.
Following the incident, the brothers started arguing with Sajjak. Sources said in the past too, the Khan brothers have had tiffs with Sajjak over parking his tempo near their workshop. However, on Saturday the fight got violent, when the Khans began assaulting Sajjak with a steel chair and knife. Mushtaq, who was trying to protect his owner, was badly injured and died on the spot. Sajjak, who was also injured in the incident, was rushed to Shatabdi Hospital in Kadivli. He is currently out of danger.
Meanwhile, Kandivli police rushed to the spot and arrested the three accused. Mushtaq and the accused hail from the village of Kodarawa Mahajiwan in UP. Mushtaq is survived by his wife Shabina (27) and two sons, Dilshad (3) and six-month-old Adnan.
