Mumbai: Gas leak in underground pipeline at Ghatkopar

Gas leakage has been reported from Mahanagar Gas Limited's underground pipeline in Ghatkopar near Damodar Park on Monday in Mumbai.

According to fire brigade officials, an underground pipe was damaged at around 6pm and gas spread in the area leading to panic among residents of buildings near Damodar Park. However, the situation was brought under control immediately with the gas supply being stopped and repair work starting promptly.

"Fire department sent two fire engines on the spot. However, the situation was under control and gas leakage stopped before they could reach the spot," said a fire officer.
