On May 23, mid-day had reported the problem of a fast-spreading mosquito menace in pockets of Bandra.

The report also focused on the ruckus that was created by restaurants and pubs in and around Reclamation, keeping local residents up late at night.

The garbage menace still plagues residents of Carter Road and the Bandra promenade, but not at as high a rate as during the monsoon. Huge mosquito breeding spots, which are basically large scrap dealers, are still flourishing in the area.

Some small changes have come about. The BMC carries out frequent fumigation drives in the area. But, there should be also be prevention techniques in place. Authorities should come once in two months and check stagnant water and objects to see whether they have become a breeding ground.

We're taking continuous action against hawkers on Hill Road and working with the sewerage team for leaks on Carter Road. We also have cleaning drives at Khar Danda.
