Following the assault on a lady traffic constable by a politician in Thane another incident occured this time in D.N. Nagar, Andheri, where a 33-year-old traffic policeman attached to the Andheri Traffic Division was assaulted by two drunk bike riders.

According to sources from the DN Nagar Traffic division, PC Sanjay Navale, who was on duty at IOC Junction near D N Nagar Metro station, at about 5 PM attempted to breakup a fight between a motorist and the accused over a minor collision when they started attacking him. Both men, who were inebriated were brought to the police station for legal action and were later sent to Cooper Hospital for medical examination.
Senior Inspector Dhanaji Nalavde said, "On the complaint of the traffic constable we registered the offence under sections 332, 353, 506(2), 34 of IPC rw 184,185,129,188 Motor Vehicle Act and arrested the accused Vicky Vijay Salve, 21 and Ram Bansode, 29 yrs. Both are residents of Chembur."
During investigations it was revealed that one of the accused is working with a cyber café while the other runs a juice centre in Chembur.
