Underworld don Chhota Rajan’s brother-in-law, Jaywant Rajaram Mule (52), was nabbed in Thane on Wednesday night by officials from Anti-Robbery and Dacoity Cell of the Crime Branch
After managing to evade arrest for over nine years, underworld don Chhota Rajan's brother-in-law, Jaywant Rajaram Mule (52), was nabbed in Thane on Wednesday night by officials from Anti-Robbery and Dacoity Cell of the Crime Branch.
They said Mule had hired shooters to kill Sanjay Gupta, owner of Supreme Satellite Vision, a Cable and Internet providing company, in Navi Mumbai. Mule and Rajan are childhood friends and became in-laws after Mule married Rajan's sister.

"Mule wanted to start his own cable services in Navi Mumbai, and Gupta was a major hurdle. So Mule, with Rajan's help, hired five shooters who killed Gupta on March 21, 2005," said Senior Inspector Ashok Khot from Anti-Robbery and Dacoity Cell.
While the Nerul police arrested all the five shooters, Mule managed to escape and had been on the run since. "He hid at various locations in Dahisar, Thane, Pune, Konkan, and out of Maharashtra. This made it difficult for the police to nab him," Khot said.
