Travelling on the Central line for most of the commuters has become a nightmare with recurring power failures, the problems with overhead wires, this was the case even on Dussehra, where it was a holiday for many but still there was a good amount of crowd seen on the platforms.

Around 2:02 pm the pantograph of a train going towards Ambernath was broken near Kurla making the train immovable.

The trains on the slow track were then diverted to fast track going toward Ambernath, Kalyan which also delayed the trains going towards CST as this was a sub-sequential effect.

A K Singh, Spokesperson, Central Railway, said, "Pantograph of a train going towards Ambernath was broken on down line at Kurla platform number 1 at around 2.02 pm but was restored later at around 3.33 pm. We have diverted the slow track trains towards the fast track from Byculla to Vidyavihar."

The problem was resolved at around 3:33 pm almost one and a half hour after the incident. While the issue has been solved, the local trains are currently running 20 minutes late.
