At least four people were injured this morning when a gas cylinder exploded at the ground floor of Mahalakshmi Apartment in Nallasopara

At least four people were injured this morning when a gas cylinder exploded at the ground floor of Mahalakshmi Apartment in Nallasopara, the Palghar police said in a statement.

The police said the blast took place around 9.15 am at the residence of Ramshiromani Yadav (29) in Gala Shirdi Nagar, Nallasopara. Yadav suffered 30-40% burns from the impact of the cylinder blast. Three women, who were standing in the passage outside the house, were also injured in the accident.

Yadav, who reached home late from work Friday night, forgot to turn off the gas knob after cooking his meal. On waking up today, he switched on the light in the kitchen that triggered the gas cylinder blast, said the police.


The impact of the gas cylinder blast was felt in the passage too

Yadav, who is a driver by profession, is being treated for his burns at a private hospital and the police department is probing the incident further.
