Two people were injured when a minor fire broke out at an industrial estate in Mahim on Saturday afternoon.
Fire officials confirmed that a total of two fire engines and one tanker were sent to the spot too douse the fire.
Speaking to mid-day, fire officials from Dharavi Fire station confirmed that the fire started in an approximately 300sq meter commercial outlet of Kakkad Industrial Estate. "The area was used for storing readymade clothes to supply them to retailers. There were irons on the table and while the investigations are on, there is a chances that the fire started from there," said a fire officer. The fire started at around 2.15pm and was rounded up within half an hour of the breakout.
Fire officials said that two people sustained minor injuries in the incident and were rushed to Sion Hospital for treatment. "Two people sustained minor burn injuries on their hands and are currently being treated at Sion. Our fire officer is accompanying them to overlook the treatment," said another senior officer.
