The police said that the accused, Vivek Kinjavdekar, got into an argument with the constable on duty after he saw that the seat of his towed bike was torn.
The police said that Kinjavdekar's bike was towed away on Saturday as it was in a no-parking zone. The police said that the accused, upon reaching the outpost, found the seat of his motorbike was torn. At the outpost, he met constable Chakor and demanded that the police compensate him for the seat. He also questioned as to why traffic policemen were targeting his bike so often.
"Chakor and the accused got into an argument, after which the accused tore Chakor's shirt and hit him on his chest. Chakor collapsed to the ground and was saved by his colleagues," said a policeman.
The police said that the accused was then handed over to the Kandivali police where he was booked and arrested under Sections 332 for voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty and 353 for assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty. "Kinjavdekar was produced before a holiday court on Sunday and was released on bail," said the official.
